Hi, I'm new about Moodle (I'm using the 2.8.5 version) and I've to transform the 2 columns Elegance theme in a 3 columns layout.
I think I've to add the "side-pre" region in the config.php file and some other changes in other files but I haven't understood in witch ones.
Please can you help me?
Hi Andrea. As far as I know, Elegance was specifically designed to be a 2 column theme to try to make it look "un-Moodle-like". So, from what I understand Elegance can't be made into a 3 column theme.
If you want 3 (or with possibility of 2) columns, but something that is similarly quite customizable in the settings area, have a look at the Essential Theme (likewise, a Julian Ridden theme now maintained by Gareth J Barnard), plus Mary Evans has made a heap of customizable 3 column themes: https://moodle.org/plugins/browse.php?list=contributor&id=713800 as has Richard Oelmann: https://moodle.org/plugins/browse.php?list=contributor&id=480148
There are heaps of 3 column themes out there - but Elegance, with all its style and pizzaz, isn't one of them.

Hi Andrea,
You need to read this Tutorial which explaing Bootstrap 3 layout.
You should then be able to work out what changes you need to make to your layout files.
