Hi,
I need some advice on the best way to specify default certificate settings by category in moodle 2.8
Currently certificates have to be added to each course and then the "design option" and "text options" specified such as the logo and watermark on each course . We create many very similar courses and I want to be able to have the same certificate design within a category and if we change the design for it to flow through to all the courses with the same category and/or sub-categories
My current thought is
- create a dummy default course for each category with a certificate
- modify the certificate plugin to have a new option to specify that it uses certificate settings from the dummy course, If the duymmy course is not there display an error
This is really kludgey.
I looked at how courses default
- site administration-> course -> course default setting but it is sitewide. If it had allowed category context I could use it
- course upload allows the course of a course template, but I am not sure what it does
