server quota filling up

Dear all,

I just started using Moodle. Great stuff! I'm trying to set up a few courses for the autumn already, and so far it looks pretty promising. I have one problem: I'm using my own host server and I only have 200 MB of space. This is quickly filling up. Is there a way of removing non-essential parts of Moodle without compromising performance? I know I could move host, but that's a bit involved. Unfortunately my university doesn't allow Moodling on their server (they are tied to a contract with WebCT).

cheers,

Erik

You can delete all languages and theme files you don't need. There are locate in .../moodle/lang and .../moodle/theme -Folder.

Only english-language files are essential ( .../moolde/lang/en ) and theme-folder you use in your system.

Hope this help.

Hi again,

Thanks for a very helpful and speedy answer.  I saved some 60 MB!  That should make all the difference.  It's really exciting to use this software.  I've been struggling alone with HTML code for years ...

cheers from London,

Erik
