I thought it easier to catch you here as well (so others can also follow the development).
We are really interested in using the option for offline video, but we also really like the fact that video can be embedded directly into the text field in a topic, so you don't have to click more than necessary to get to it. First of all, it seems that embedded videos (even when uploaded to moodle as well) are not downloadable for offline use, correct?
Taking this into consideration we then tried something else: inserting a video as an activity (so it can be downloaded) and then linking to it within moodle in the text field. However, this makes the app open the phone's web browser instead of staying in the app. This seems to be a problem all through the app.
If I write a text strip identical to the name of an activity it automatically makes it into a link in the text field, which is actually fine. Problem is, however, that instead of directing me to the activity within the app it tries to open this in the web browser. This problematic for two reasons: 1) if I'm offline, it can't open the web site. 2) Even if I am online, I'm most likely not logged in to the learning platform in the web browser, therefore making the activity unavailable anyway.
When all comes to all, we would like to have the file/video activity accessible in app offline, not only as the activity itself, but also as an embedded video in the text field that then refers to the downloaded activity.
