I want to set a moodle site so there are pages that anyone can see (e.g. like the moodle.org website itself). Now I know I can do this by enroling people automatically as guests into the course. However this leads to problems when people (who become guests automatically) want to subscribe to a course. Because then this course says 'sorry guests not allowed'. However the visitor is not aware of the fact that he has the guest role and does not realize he has to first logout and then subscribe to this course. People get lost on the site (at least on my site ) So, is there a more elegant way to do this?
Perhaps create another role with different permissions? e.g. users (not guests) are allowed to see courses with guest acces? Or perhaps another idea?
