Installing Moodle & Joomla 3.4 Existing Website

I understand that I will need to install Joomdle extension in both my Moodle install and Joomla install. My web host suggested installing Moodle in it's own hosted account on a Linux server.

What I believe they are saying is that they suggest the MSQL database reside on it's own server location. How do I connect the joomdle extension back to the Moodle server and it's joomdle extension? The installation documents don't seem to cover this.

Do I use the url from my existing website or the domains url? For each configuration of Moodle, Moodle Joomdle and Joomla joomdle which url's do I use?

My plan is to assign the joomdle extension to a menu and new page/template on my existing website with connection to the moodle courseware that will be created.

My web host uses the latest PHP and seems to match the installation requirements.

Thank you

There is a Joomdle plugin for Moodle and for Joomla.  The set up is fairly self-explanatory.  Where it asks for the Moodle url, plut the url of your Moodle site and ditto for the Joomla one.  (Basically, you give the Moodle plugin the address of your Joomla site and the Joomla plugin the address of your Moodle site.)  You use the web address of each site.  http://www.yourmoodlesite.com and http://www.yourjoomlasite.com.

Once you have the settings in there, on the Joomla side, it will tell you if everything is connecting correctly.
