I now have my own test Moodle 2.8.1 set up here at home. It is mine. It is all mine and "I can do with it what ever I wont"...
There are a few changes I would like to explore to make grading easier. I plan to assemble a fix-list to send to the University when they upgrade and maybe others might appreciate my finds.
1) minimize (remove?) the e-mail column as default. I wonder if it has any value since it is not even a useable link.
2) Change the grade column from percentage to a fixed width or set it to a thinner column.
3) reformat the Last Modified column to numerical dates instead of spelled out words which take up a lot of space.
The list goes on.
I am not asking how to do these things, I am just asking for someone to tell me where to go.
