Mysql upgrade affecting Moodle?

Mysql upgrade affecting Moodle?

Hi,

I am currently using Moodle 2.1 with PHP 5.3.13 and Mysql 5.1.73. I want to upgrade the PHP (which is no problem for me) and Mysql to a more up to date version to allow me to run another moodle installation for a different project.

Can anyone tell me if it would be a problem for my existing Moodle 2.1 site if I upgrade the Mysql database to 5.5.31. I do not want to do the upgrade on the database only to find that my existing moodle installation stops working!

Thanks,

Nikki

Does anyone have any idea on this? I want to upgrade the Mysql database so I can use Moodle 2.8 for a new installation but have another installation that is currently using Moodle 2.1 and want to make sure the database upgrade does not affect that old installation.

Hoping someone has an answer!!

Thanks, Nikki

I think it's unlikely you'll have a problem.

Do I need to point out that you are running an old, unsupported version of Moodle though?
