Upgrading from moodle 1.4.4 to moodle 1.5.2

Upgrading from moodle 1.4.4 to moodle 1.5.2

Can anyone please list me the steps involved in upgrading moodle1.4.4 to moodle 1.5.2 .

I have tried to do as below and was not successful .

I tried to copy  all the tables from the old database (1.4.4). to the new database. then i tried logging in .

I get some errors from theames .

Also I could not login - there is an error stating that Cookies are not enabled.

Can any one pls help,

Does Moodle has an easy uprade path?
I have a customer who needs to upgrade from 1.4.2 to 1.5 but...
all I see here in the forums are nothing to secure me.
I tried 2 times to do the upgrade through Fantastico but...
was packed with errors.
