PHP 4.4.0 versus a brand new Moodle installation

So far PHP is WAY out in front...  sad

I've read the various trials and tribulations of those that got caught by the PHP 4.4.0 upgrade with existing sites, but has anyone else installed Moodle successfully with PHP 4.4.0?  What's happening to me is...nothing.  The connection attempt from the browser hangs until a CGI timeout message appears.

Some background...this is a development site I'm using to learn Moodle, and had been running fine with PHP 5.0.4 but the Flash module has issues with PHP 5, so I am downgrading to PHP 4.  Since the existing site stopped working, I tried a new install, but that's no good either.  I'm running IIS on a W2K box, and IIS appears to be setup for PHP.

Thoughts/suggestions?  Thanks!

Yeah...after enough failures, I came to the same conclusion.  All's well now, thanks.
