I am using Moodle 1.5.2 + 2005060220 and MySQL with access to PhpMyAdmin.
I have over 1500 users on my existing Moodle site. I have downloaded these users to an external database using PhpMyAdmin. The only problem I seem to be having is addressing the password field. Moodle seems to have it encrypted, whilst the external database (also SQL) uses plain text in the password field.
This may seem like a really stupid question but I am a novice to SQL, so please explain things in laymans terms. I would prefer to make the changes to moodle, rather than the new database:
- I would prefer it to show plain text
- Which file in Moodle/SQL do I need to change
- Will it change the existing database password in Moodle?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
