I have updated a 1.4 install to 1.5 over the summer, and one of my users observed that he no longer had access to old test banks of questions.
I have confirmed that he is being told on the questions "permission in the publishing" course is necessary to use the questions. The questions were initially published for anyone to use so they could share the banks in the dept. If I give him administrative rights, he can create the tests.
It appears that my categories of questions may not have made the migration, and the permissions to use them may have gotten messed up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on this? I have not imported any banks of questions from the new teacher CD's yet, but I was going to start today. I want to make sure that all the math teachers (for example) can use the questions in any of the imported sets of math questions.
This makes it impossible to share quiz questions across instructors, unless Instructor A exports the questions to a file, and the other instructors each import the questions into a category within their own course.
Whilst you're in there ....is the behaviour in when the "Export questions" link as expected? I get a message stating only teachers are allowed to export questions. I suspect this is linked to the above. If not I'll file it as a bug (if it is...).
Edit: By the time I'd posted this the bug was squashed. Gustav could you advise if this is expected behaviour?
I'm seeing Howard in a new light. Howard, the import/export guy.
Thanks for taking a look at this.
Just to get things started in our school, I created a hidden class named "Math Dept." and moved all the questions from every class there. All the members of the department were made members of the class.
This gave all of them access to the questions.
