We have been trialling using the Workshop module at the Open University. As a results of this we have a list of changes we think would be a good idea, or at least that we would like to discuss. I will probably post about then in a few separate threads, where I will group the changes by topic.
If people agree with our proposals, I will make tracker issues for them.
This first set should be relatively un-controversial. There are some accessibility issues we have spotted:
- The current phase is only indicated by hilighting one row in the table. You cannot show something with colour alone. Therefore, there needs to be some extra text to indicate the current Phase, possibly with class="accesshide". Alternatively, MDL-44010 might be a solution, but I don't think so.
- We are using the "Comments" grading method, but this probably applies to "Accumulative" too, and perhaps some others. When students are grading, the description of each aspect is not properly linked to the corresponding input box using <label> tags, or aria-labelledby, so screen-reader users find it difficult to complete the grading form.
- Various parts of the interface had insufficient contrast, which would make it hard for partially sighted users. We should tweak the CSS to increase the contrast. (Actually, I think this issue related to the file-picker, not the Workshop.)
Any objections before I make tracker issue for these?
