Hi,

Am trying to install moodle on Linux server with Apache 1.3.27/PHP 4.3.10/MySQL and its not working.

Have uploaded all files to server and given write permissions to the moodle directory and the install.php file but when I visit the install page it says:

A file permissions error has occurred running this script.
Please check that the script and the directory that it's in are only writable by the site administrator.
If this error persists, please contact the server administrator.

Can't understand it.  I have checked and double-checked the permissions and they should be ok.

I'd be grateful for any help. (Please be gentle with me I'm a newbie to all of this.)

Hi Ali
   As per me you are missing out some folders that require the full permission to execute, will suggest you to go through the folders once again

I have checked the files & folders and they are all set to rwx (numeric value 777)  I presume this is what they have to be??

No config.php has been produced either.

Really not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?
