Importance of /temp and /trashdir folders content

Hello,

I am in the process of saving/downloading all my moodle files to my computer using FTP.

And I have two questions :

QUESTION 1 :

Is it necessary to retrieve /temp and /trashdir folders along with the rest of moodledata/folders?

 

QUESTION 2:

Is it safe to manually empty /temp and /trashdir folders on my server?

Hi,

You mean that you're saving all files in moodledata folder to make a Moodle backup?

You can ignore saving (and/or empty) these folders : temp, sessions, cache, localcache

trashdir just allows to recover files deleted in the last 24h. If you're sure no files are concerned, you can also ignore/empty this!

Yes I am saving all my Moodle files "as are" to make a backup.

I had transferred all the file to my computer using FTP, but I will now delete everything that is superfluous.
