In order to enhance the usefulness of forums, it would be great for the instructor to also have the flexibility to rate and comment on a forum post in a private way similar to the assignment feedback. In some circumstances this would enable the instructor to active participation in the course particularly in online ones. 

I hope the excellent Moodle development team will consider this in future releases.
