I have been loving the elegance theme, but have some issues with the slider. The images in the container, with initial settings, always stay at 100% width of the container and maintain their aspect ratio, which I do not want. (Nor can I imagine, would anyone.) I would prefer them exhibit the "contain" behavior which I believe would keep them within the container, maintain their aspect ratio and resize responsively. However, when attempting to make those modifications, I get numerous strange effects. Please note: I have tried numerous settings in the file here: ".../theme/elegance/layout/includes/slideshow.php" on line 145
For example, "<li id="slide1" style="background-image: url(<?php echo $slide1image ?>); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: contain;">" but also numerous other settings such as background-size: 100% auto, et al per other discussions in this forum.
I think the error may be further up in the page at line 142 with <ul style="width: 400%; position: relative; left: -200%; height: 415px;">
<div class="banner has-dots has-arrows" style="overflow: hidden; width: 100%; height: 250px;">
The second line left position % changes with each slide.
I am not a programmer, so I hope I've been clear about this issue. Am I on to the source of the error? If so, how can I edit the slideshow.php line to correct this.
The project is a bust without a working responsive slider.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
