I am a virtual teaching newbie.
I've been asked to respond to this for a blended model lesson plan that I have created: How do you know that the students are doing their own work?
Below are some of my answers. Is there a better way to communicate this? Is there a best practice while answering such questions?
OVERVIEW: Both in-classroom interaction and conditional activities on the class Moodle site will track progress.
1. The spell test is designed for both in-classroom and for absentees.
For those who complete it in class, that itself is proof of own work. The performance will show extent of understanding and mastery of written spelling, phonics and vocabulary.
2. Absentees can do the test online. The multiple choice is designed to make the child think carefully. The class moodle site (LMS) has built in safeguards to ascertain that students are doing their own work. ( THIS DOES NOT SOUND VERY CONVINCING....I KNOW I AM MISSING SOMETHING HERE).
3. Reading with expression, intuitively, is proof of own work. All recordings on class moodle site, there's no way a child's parent can, say, record, on behalf of child and not be found out.
4. 4. Verbs and adjectives: Conditional activity on the site. Student needs to finish the easy quizzes correctly before being able to move on to the next round of tough verbs and adjectives. Conditionality will ensure practice and mastery.
