I actually have the sync scheduled during off-peak hours - i.e 2am
We occasionally get a handful of 'night crawlers' and individuals in different time zones accessing their courses to do work (assignment, quiz) and these individuals from time to time will get the 'error writing to database' exception while sync in progress.
