I'm exploring the idea of using a fingerprint scanner to access online classes. Currently students at our College can only receive funding if they attend in person; however this is becoming more and more burdensome in an era where so many classes are delivered online.
I was hoping someone could tell me if this is possible: to require students to use a fingerprint scanner to access Moodle. It would need to be only for Moodle access, not a master key for all sites like some software is currently offering. This would be a requirement because we would need to prove to the government that the appropriate person signed in immediately before the class began.
I believe that if I was able to successfully "hide" the Blackboard Collaborate link for classes inside Moodle, that it would allow us to break down barriers for many disadvantaged students who can not attend in person due to childcare issues, lack of transportation, geographic location, etc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
