I am pleased to announce with the grateful funding of 'Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand - https://ecnz.ac.nz' that Collapsed Topics has a new 'Show section summary when collapsed' feature ժպտում եմ.

Hi Gareth,

Thank you for implementing this feature. I just installed it and it works properly. I hope that the improvement "make this the current topic” as a feature in "Restrict access” will also find a sponsor.

There already is the functionality of 'make this the current topic' - or do you mean something else?

Hi Gareth,

Thank you for your reply. At the moment if one uses topic or collapsed topic as course format, he/she has to indicate the current topic manually, meaning, he/she has to click on the light bulb. With the functionality of restrict access to a topic (section) by date, I am still wondering why this cannot be connected with "make it current." So if "date" is true, the topic should not only be accessible but also marked as current. (see also my forum post HERE).

In MDL-47516 Marina Glancy shared her plugin Moodle course format Period, but admits that it is still not flexible enough as it can only be used for weeks or days. 

Usually when I teach in a classroom setting, I do this on two days per week for 15 weeks. After each session I give access to the next session and I like the feature that the current topic is at the top. It's a great help for the students.

I'll have a look at Marina's format - thanks ժպտում եմ.

To be honest I had forgotten about: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=268797 - sorry - as so much goes through my mind!  But it now occurs to me that there is the 'Current week first' option in CT that may help.
