In my ongoing project to convert our antiquated paper based numeracy test for base lining new students into a Moodle quiz I'm looking for suggestions for the best way to handle the requirement for fractions as an answer. I use WIRIS editor for any requirements in the question but I'm not sure of the best way of handling it for the student to answer with a fraction.

The module WIRIS quizzes allows the student to answer in multiple formats, including formulas made with the WIRIS editor.
The system is also smart enough recognize when the answer is different but mathematically equal to the solution, and if the answer is actually simplified or not, and things like that...
