Play a new message sound / Beep user

Hello,

Reading the forums, it would suggest that there is supposed to be a 'beep' button next to a user. For me, I can't seem to be able to enable this feature. Is there a way to enable this or to add a sound so that when people post a message it notifies you of the new reply?

Edit: We are hosting Moodle 2.6.

Any help would be brilliant.

Hi Russell,

In the chat room you only see the beep button for other people and not for yourself.

Thank you for the reply. I've tested this with additional users and yes, as explained it did indeed show up.
