Mobile Moodle: Cannot connect error

Mobile Moodle: Cannot connect error

Hi,

I've enabled web services for mobile devices and trying to test moodle mobile app on a Windows tablet.  We have CAS (Central Authentication Service) single sign-on which doesn't seem to be working so I'm using a workaround URL to allow direct authentication via the database which doesn't seem to be working - will not allow me to add https://moodle-dev.xxx.xxx.xxx/login/?q=xxxx for example.

Using https://moodle.xxx.xxx.xxx/?q=xxxx was accepted but I got a "cannot connect ... " error once I am able to add the URL.

Can anyone help please?

Regards,

Remy

Hi,

I've now installed the Moodle Mobile additional features plugin for CAS and followed the instructions here: https://docs.moodle.org/28/en/Moodle_Mobile_additional_features#Installation.  Now getting "username was not found in the database” error.

Thanks,

Remy

Hi Remy,

are you sure that the local_mobile service is correctly enabled in your installation? You should not see the username/password input fields, a new browser app shoulw be opened pointing to your Moodle installation once you enter the URL

Cheers, Juan

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your response.  Yes it is.  I've taken screenshots of the screens - please use this link to access: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ks7RM59xcRhb1WVj5WUK4TRH_as8gi5lx_uDJRU6z2o/edit?usp=sharing because it was too big to attach it here.

I enabled web services for mobile devices, enabled moodle mobile additional features in web services >> external services and modified permissions for authenticated user as instructed here:  https://docs.moodle.org/28/en/Moodle_Mobile_additional_features#Installation but there was no browser activation once I entered the URL.  I've tried on both Surface tablet and Apple iPhone and got the same result each time.

Regards,

Remy
