How can I extend the due date for a lesson activity for only one user?

Hi all,

If I want to extend the due date for only one user in a lesson activity, I set up a group with this user and restrict the lesson activity for this group. So for the time of extension, other users will have no access to the lesson nor will they see their result in the gradebook. Is there a better approach to extend the time for one user in a lesson activity? 

I know how to grant an extension in an assignment or quiz activity, but haven't found out how to do this in a similar fashion within the lesson activity.

Hello Hartmut,

Currently there is no user/group overrides in the lesson activity. There are several issues in the tracker to add this feature to lesson activity and other activity modules see MDL-7315 and MDL-27042.

To my best knowledge no work has been done on this feature.

Thi is sad because it is the most voted issue for the lesson component in the tracker.

Hi Jean-Michel,

Thank you for your response. I voted for both tracker issues. Perhaps someone will dedicate his or her time to improve this core activity so that these features will be available for Moodle 2.9.
