I fixed it, well it seems I did a bo bo and made my cron keep logs for 200 days. I have cleaned out the logs and now everything works. I also set it to clean the logs ever 14 days.
Still fuzzy on micro time and why we are using this, and I think that is what was holding back my log files. But I am far from a developer so ignore my comments on that one
