I am testing a Moodle course that I want to use to enable a large number of tutors (as non-editing teachers) to contact their particular group of students using forum posts. I've set up lots of groups and want to use a single forum.
First I tried the News forum sending to a group - this worked for students, but it didn't work for non-editing teachers - they all got the email notifications regardless of the group they were in.
I tried a discussion forum with forced subscription - same issue. Seems I can send email to a group of students - but all the non-editing teachers get email notifications.
I guess I need to override the non-editing teacher role in this course - perhaps the accessallgroups capability? Can anyone advise?
Am I missing something obvious? I usually do...
