We are running a project with two groups of students (HNC students and HND students) using the Workshop module for formative peer assessment of Word document submissions. Hopefully the bulleted list below will make it clear what we are trying to achieve and apologies if this has been covered previously;
- The HNC group are the students who will be submitting their Word documents to be anonymously (created a specific role for this, see permission setting below if it helps others) peer assessed by the HND group of students.
- We don't want the HND student group to make submissions, they are there purely as peer reviewers for the HNC students.
- The HND students will be provided with rubric grading criteria (Level Grade: 0 - 4) and a comments text box for additional feedback.
- The lecturer will only be there to oversee that the HND students are using the Level Grades and comments facility appropriately, not over riding the HND students grades.
What we are looking for is the Grade for Submission (which the HND students will provide to the HNC students) only without the requirement of the Grade for Assessment. What the HND students provide the HNC students during the Grade for Submission is the grade they should receive.
Specific Peer Assessment Role Permissions for HND Students:
Following settings carried out within newly created student based role for anonymously viewing Workshop authors:
mod/workshop:submit - Prevent
mod/workshop:viewauthornames - Prevent
mod/workshop:viewauthorpublished - Prevent
moodle/grade:view - Prevent (These HND students don't need to have a grade)
