This is the Elegance thread and 2014.imoot.org is a variation of Elegance. However, you mention the Essential theme. Which one do you mean?
And what version of the theme are you using?
thank you for your reply. I'm sorry, I would to say elegance not essential and the correct link is this https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=theme_elegance. I'm currently using the latest version v.2.7.1.00 (Build: 2014082100) installed from moodle website. My current moodle version is v2.7.2. My questions are related to the possibilities to customize the marketing spot and the slideshow.
Couple of options. I used the following CSS to make the marketing spots span across the page:
You might check with Chrome developer tools that those are the correct column md numbers on your site.
The blank space to the left of the marketing spots is to place a block in - you can either use an html block and put whatever you want there or I use a log in block in that space on one my sites.
I don't use the slideshow but there have been lots of forum posts about that so just do some googling/forum searching and hopefully you will find your answer for that part.
thank you for your fast reply. I solved many of my problems. At the moment I still have a problem with slideshow function of the theme but it seems a well know problem https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=255602. Do you know if it will be fixed by next release of Elegance theme? Is this problem already fixed in the bootstrap theme v.3.x?
I would like also to point out that the title of marketing spot and of the slideshow does not change according to language. It remains fixed in a language also if it is set to the default value.
Those would be questions for Danny...he is managing the theme now. I just know how to hack parts of it!!
I would like also to signal that the behaviour of slideshow section of the elegance theme is different by using various browsers. In particular, if I take pictures of different resolution, google chrome resize and adjust them while the other browser as mozilla firefox and opera don't do anything and simply show the pictures with their actual sizes. The automatic resizing of google chrome is very useful, however I expected the same behaviour from the other browsers. Is it a problem of slideshow or of some browser?
