Help!! This is my third year teaching with Moodle, and I need to know how to set up a quiz so that a student can work on a quiz over time without losing his/her progress (for my special services students). They were able to do this in the past by just exiting the quiz and their progress was saved (it would say "continue last attempt") but I'm struggling with setting this up correctly this year. Please help me!!!
I don't know what version we have... Basically I have my quizzes set up so that I create a group for my special ed students which opens the quiz for them but doesn't close it so that they have time to finish it. Last year they were able to simply log out without submitting the quiz and it saved their progress. This year it doesn't seem to be saving their progress. I can't seem to find a setting that allows them to continue with the quiz. For submitting it, the options are submit open attempts automatically, give them a grace period for submission, or quizzes not submitted aren't counted. I can increase the number of attempts allowed, but this isn't what I want either. Needless to say, I'm very frustrated.
There is no setting.
If the quiz is not saving the students responses and letting them resume later, then there is a problem with the way your Moodle site is installed.
I guess from the fact that you don't even know which Moodle version you are running, that you are not the administrator of this Moodle site. You need to contact the person who does maintain your Moodle site, and ask them to investigate why it is not working (when it did last year).
It must be something specific to your Moodle site, because it works for everyone else.
