Limitatamente all'ultimo quesito posso dirle che la voce che cerca è stata rimossa nella versione 2.8:

.... The experimental setting 'Group members only' has been removed in Moodle 2.8. The group restriction option inconditional activities now provides this functionality. Any group members only instances are automatically converted to group restrictions as part of the site upgrade process.  .....
