I taught a class last night to some of my newbie teachers. We reached a point of confusion when I was instructing them on how to add a resource or activity. My view, which was being projected, shows two separate options as shown in figure A below. Their screens were showing one option as shown in figure B below. We're using the same server, same browser, same class, etc, etc. I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to change my view to match theirs.
Look in the settings block:
Course administration > Activity chooser on/off
(on your computer it should say 'off', on theirs it will say 'on' - which is the default).
