I am running Moodle 2.7.1, Stack 2014011500 3.2 for Moodle 2.4+ Maxima 5.23.2
I am running into a weird problem where the instant validation becomes very touchy about what the student types in, depending on what the correct answer is.
It works just fine if the correct answer is something simple, like 2*d/g. In this "well behaved" mode, if the student type in something stupid like x/y, the instant validator says your answer has been interpreted as x/y and its is OK with that.
BUT if the correct answer is sqrt(2*d/g) or equivalently it is (2*d/g)^(1/2), then if the student type in x/y, the instant validator says:
Your last answer was interpreted as follows: x/y
This answer is invalid.
0^0 has been generated
(See screen shot)
Its weird... Why would the instant validation care about what the correct answer is?
Any ideas as to what's happening??
