Hi, thanks for helping out.
We have a medium sized Moodle instance (about 33510 users, and 420 courses spreading among 25+ different course categories), running Moodle 2.4.7 right now.
I guess I want to learn a little bit more on the technical side about what backend operations are performed when issuing a "course deletion" command. We have experienced very slow performance when deleting a course (which has pre-populated with some course template content). Sometimes the deletion will take 5 to 10 minutes to finish. Is this normal? Is course deletion considered as a database intense activity so it is known to be slow regardless of your hardware or LAMP configuration? Is there anything we can do to speed it up? Thanks a bunch!
