I was hoping that it would work. I submitted a simple pdf 11 x 8.5 with the word start on one side and end on the other side and the words end does not appear in the editor. It only renders in portrait mode still.
The bug https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-43462 should be updated so that it is known to affect Version 2.7 as well.
Thanks for linking the demo site so that I could try it and I hope that it will get fixed.
