Moodle 2.7 reset course missing delete logs feature

Moodle 2.7 reset course missing delete logs feature

Hi!

In moodle 2.7 in 'reset course' there is no 'delete logs' check box (as opposite to 1.9). It's by design? How can I clear/purge course logs in 2.7?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Sergey, it was a conscious decision taken while working on MDL-43274.

Apart from the fact that it may be physically impossible to remove the logs from the external log systems, the very functionality was not correct. Logs are a historical data and the only opportunity to find out what and when has happened (and who did it). In moodle it is possible to make a partial course reset, but prior to 2.7 it was possible to delete all or none logs only.

Hi, Marina!

I agree. Logs must be logs. I think that event/completion subsystem is more right way. And plugins developers should be pointed to use only those subsystems.
