Hyperlinks not active in submitted essays

I made a lesson in Moodle 2.5 and one of the questions is an essay that requires students to include a hyperlink.  When I go to grade the essays, I only see plain text:


No link in essay

I can see that the hyperlinks are present when I look at a student's work via the reports:

Link works in reports

The problem is that I don't see a way to grade the work in Reports.  Do I have to jump back and forth or am I (hopefully!) missing something?

I have reported this issue in the bug tracker here: MDL-43386 Grade essay student response formatting not correct.

You may add your vote and try out the very simple hack I suggested (on a test site).
