For us to be able to help you, please stick to the Moodle "terminology". The words "test" and "units" are not part of the Moodle vocabulary so I do not know what you mean.
Are you talking about the "Quiz" activity? And the "Lesson" activity? What do you mean by "units"?
Storyline is a completely different piece of (commercial) software, which I do not know so cannot help you with it.
