Aspell - error = 'No suitable dictionary found installed on your server!'

I'm using moodle 1.4.4+ under linux server ! I have downloaded

aspell-0.60.3.tar.gz and extacted it in /var/www/html .

I have added the path $CFG->aspellpath= '/var/www/html/aspell'; in config.php also . now when i click the spell checker button i'm getting the following error !!

error = 'No suitable dictionary found installed on your server!' ..

What is the problem ?? pls tell me what am i missing out exactly ?

First you need to install aspell and dictionaries. Check instructions from http://aspell.sourceforge.net/man-html/Installing.html#Installing

Have you checked if aspell already been installed on your system?
