I would like to have Font Family, Font Size, and Font color in the top line preventing the need to toggle the tool bar every time I use them. How do I do this?
You can change the order of icons in the toolbar config box in the Site administration Atto text editor settings - see Text editor You can also have many more icons on one line if you want - see Site administration>Plugins>Text editors>Atto HTML editor>Collapse toolbar settings
No I can't and the "help" screen doesn't explain how to do so. All it tells me is that it can be done.
The Collapse Tool Bar setting just lets me change the number of icons to be displayed. It doesn't even allow me to decide to collapse or not. Is there some magic switch hidden somewhere that I should realize?There is an option for font color but one can only to choose from 5 of the basic 8 crayola colors. I guess that it is believed that kindergarten kids have more intelligence for color choice than we do. We cannot even choose gray! What's up with that?
Can I add to this...I also can't find out how to set ATTO as not collapsed?
I see the Toolbar config has a setting "collapse = collapse"...but I can't find any documentation on what the opposite is? No? Uncollapsed?
Go to Site administration->Plugins->Text editors->Atto->Collapse toolbar settings and set the number of groups to be 20 just in case.
That's an easy workaround, thanks.
I still don't know the "right" answer to change the default from "collapse = collapse" in the Atto Toolbar config table. The documentation and page instructions is very poor in this regard , but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's had this same issue.
Expanding the groups in the Atto --> Collapse Toolbar Settings to 20 does work though.
Thanks Mary!! Very helpful and quick response!
Mary follow up question: Can you point me to a list of instructions on to the the use the Atto toolbar config table? I don't think I've come across any that explain how to use it.
What is it you want to know or change Lauren? I don't know of any written instructions but if I can figure things out I can write some for you.
groupname1 = button1, button2, button3
groupname2 = button1, button2, button3
The group names on the left have no effect on how the toolbar works, they just need to be different for each button (and no spaces please). The list of buttons says which button goes in which group and in what order. The exact word to insert here for each button is listed in the "Toolbar config" column above.
The reason there are names for the groups is that it helps to make you think about how to group the buttons sensibly and not just stick new buttons in random locations. Ie. all the buttons in the "files" group interact with the file picker in some way - so putting the equation editor here would affect the usability (slightly).
Hope this helps!
