Hello folks,

We are running 2.6.4+ (2010717) on Redhat Enterprise 6.5 64-bit, php 5.3.3+ and MySQL 5.1.77 source distro.

We are investigating and planning to replace our MySQL with MariaDB 10.x instead.

Has anybody used this combination in production and would love your observation and general issues you have encountered.

I am also looking at MySQL Fabric and investigate its use as a failover option.

Has anyone used MySQL Fabric with Moodle and what are the gotchas?

This is to plan when we move to 2.8.x and above next year... we have a year to test thoughtful whether it is worth doing the replacement or not.

Thank you.

Jerry

We switched from MySQL 5.5 to mariaDB 10.0.12 last month as part of the Moodle 2.7 upgrade.

Everything is running great with 10.0.12, not a single problem or issue. Since you are planning to move to Moodle 2.8 next, you definitely will need to upgrade PHP. PHP 5.6 is due out very soon.

Thank you Ryan.

What do you for failover? If any?
