I suspect this isn't for Richard alone, but is really a generic permissions question.
We have ILP installed. Tutors are using the Block to access their tutees no problem.
But now we are creating courses for each tutor, on which tutees will be enrolled, so that tutors can do group work (and especially messaging their whole tutee group at once from inside Moodle).
Anyway, we had previously set block/ilp:viewotherilp to be not set for all our editing teachers at system level, that way they would never get the link for "My Course Groups". And we had also set to not set at system level the block/ilp:reviewee capability.
Now I'll be putting all these tutors' courses in a new category hierarchy so they don't appear and interfere in faculty level categories with ordinary teaching modules in.
SO I figured that since in these categories I do want editing teachers to see the ilp tutees, and I do want students in the courses below this category to appear in student lists I figured I could set block/ilp:viewotherilp to allow for editing teachers on "highest common category" and block/ilp:reviewee set to allow for students on that same highest level category.
But they don't seem to apply the over-ridden permissions settings on the highest level tutorial class category to the tutors courses within.
Am I making any sense? I feel like I've set and reset dozens of different combinations and no longer know where to check.
Ought one be able to set a permission in an override at a category level and expect that override to apply to all courses below that category unless further over-ridden down the tree? If so, it doesn't appear to be working in my case.
