You are right, the Red5 should never know about port redirection. Our own Red5 server is working well, I tested it with the Moodle in the same network and also from your demo.poodll.com. Thank you for your setup guide.
The problem is still on another Moodle installation. The problem is somewhere in php5. The connection to Red5 worked well for at least one year and stopped working two months ago after some actualization (php5, apache2). We have PHP 5.6.14-0+deb8u1 (cli) (built: Oct 4 2015 16:13:10) on Debian Jessie.
When I use php5-fpm (or php-cgi) it is not working. When I use php5 as apache module, it is working. I will search for some configuration changes between mod and fpm(cgi).
