Can't enable LDAP Enrollment on a course

Can't enable LDAP Enrollment on a course

We've been successfully using LDAP authentication for some years now. This year we wanted to look at whether there was a good way for users to be automatically enrolled on certain courses, and we came across the LDAP enrolment plugin.

We think we've got it set up properly, but when we go to enable LDAP enrolment on a course that we want to test it on, it does not appear in the list of enrolment plugins we can add.

Does anyone have any suggestions why this might be or how we can troubleshoot this?

Thanks,

Hi Dan,

It sounds as though the person attempting to enable LDAP enrolment on a course does not have a role with the capability enrol/ldap:manage allowed. It's not allowed for the default teacher role, only the manager role.

Please let us know how your troubleshooting goes. (It seems like the documentation LDAP enrolment could do with improving. wink)
