calendar: automatic update with timezone error

calendar: automatic update with timezone error

Hello,

we are using Moodle 2.6.3 .

I have created an calender in moodle as an subscription which takes its data from an ics-file on an another webserver.

If I update the calendar manually by clicking the button (labeled in german "Aktualisieren") it works fine.

But if I set up the automatic update, the events are shifted by 2 hours. Though I live in timezone UTC+2, but the automatic update is done as if I live in UTC-time.

What can cause this error?

Thanks in advance,

Helge Münnich

Dear Helge,

You are not the only one! I'm having the same issue, or at least a similar one. I'm subscribing to an ics calendar and (a) it ignores timed events ("failed to update") and (b) it shifts the all-day events by +3 hours. (My server's timezone is UTC +3, but so is the time zone on the server that the ics calendar is on.)

I'm still troubleshooting, but I see this bug report on the Moodle Tracker that suggests there is a known bug here:

https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-46084

Hope we can get our calendar problem solved!

regards,
