I cannot reproduce the problem you mention. Given the many parameters in the lesson activity it is almost impossible to reproduce your problem if we do not have a copy of your actual lesson to test things out.
I offer to test out your lesson if you can back it up and send it to me (see my email in my Moodle profile).
