Hi, there! smile

I just installed Moodle via Auto installer in the ffhero cpanel. It installed successfully as I can see log in but after I log in, it just shows a white page. I'm not sure what's wrong and I'm not on the expert level in these things so any kind of help is much appreciated :D

Thank you!

All the best,
T.

Hi Therene,

What Moodle version? What's the version of the other components (web server, database server,  php).

You checked the web server error logs, but was there anything relevant?

Carefully review the following pages and their recommendations:

http://docs.moodle.org/27/en/Installation_FAQ#Why_are_all_my_pages_blank.3F

My current installed version is 2.0.7 and I'm trying to fix that. I was hoping I'd be able to update via the admin panel. I will review those pages again. Thank you.

Edit:

Upon adding the debugger, I had this message/s:

Hi Therene,

It seems that you installed Moodle in a directory named "courses"; did you? Was it a fresh install or an upgrade? And if the latter, from which version did you upgrade? What about the version numbers of the other server components?

Anyway, you need to open the Moodle config.php configuration file and fix the value of the $CFG->dirroot parameter, it should have the address (URL) used to access the Moodle installation, for example: http://yoursite.com/moodle.

You might want to read the following page:

http://docs.moodle.org/27/en/Configuration_file

Hello, Guillermo.

Yes, I have installed it in a directory named courses from a one-click installation. It is fresh and its version is 2.0.7

Just checking, would the url read http://mysite.com/moodle instead of http://mysite.com/courses ?

Hello Therene,

Yes, you are right, it should say http://yoursite.com/courses smile

So you updated the config.php file, the original error messages are gone but you got the ones you put? Or are you still getting the previous?

Hi again smile I still don't have this issue figured out.

Yes, the original errors are gone but I am getting more errors with a white canvas beneath it :/

Hi Therene,

Any reason to stay at 2.0.7?

I would sincerely consider using a newer version and doing a manual install (not using the one-click installer offered).

No reason to stay at 2.0.7 at all. :D

I was just hoping to use the one-click installer and update from here. smile but yes, I shall try the manual install from here on and see where that leads me.

Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Therene,

You'll see it is not that difficult:

* Create a database and its user with full permissions.

* Create the moodledata folder (outside of the Root directory, that is, outside of the main directory where all the web pages of your site are served).

* Upload and unpack the correct Moodle package (this will depend on the web server, database server and php versions in your site).

* Use your browser to access the Moodle folder and start the installation process; fill in the text boxes with the required data.
