I have a moodle site hosted on a cPanel back end. I have courses which will be open to the public, and which will have PayPal as a payment method.
I believe PayPal is secure enough to allow the payment through SSL without having to worry about 'double' security of securing the Moodle site, but I'd like to know if I'm correct is surmising that subsequent access to the site could be compromised, and therefore insecure?
Assuming I do have to secure the site, I'd like to know if there are any walk-through steps which would specifically detail how to add an SSL Certificate to cPanel. I have tried this, but apparently I'm doing something wrong (getting 404 errors).
I have a follow up question too, I've now read two articles suggesting that I test whether the site can support https by going to htps://yourserver:443. What neither of them say, is what a positive or negative result is, I'm getting a https://yourserver.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi page, which could mean either.
Thanks in advance.
