I work at a school with about 70 teachers creating Moodles for about 400 students. At the end of every year the IT department erases the Moodle installation to do a fresh install. The IT folks are convinced that without this practice, the log files grow huge and performance will suffer. Teachers are required to backup and then restore their courses yearly.
Is this the general case? Does everyone start from scratch with Moodle on an annual basis? Is there a way to address the log file issue?
Thanks for your replies.
