Since most people usually have a combination of individual learning styles, it would be pretty hard to automate the process. There are also many ways to differentiate learning styles. Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences is one way, but Richard Felder at North Carolina State University has a holistic way of looking at students' learning preferences, too. Beyond this, some students prefer learning strategies that might not always be associated with their learning style.
The first step might be to make students aware that there are different ways to learn, to get them to start the metacognitive process of learning how they learn best (see list of learning preference surveys below), and to show them how to take responsibility for improving their learning success.
After that, it will still require that instructors provide different ways for students to learn the same material--through reflection, interaction, individual kinesthetic activity, etc. We should work with teachers to understand how to accommodate different learning styles by creating different learning objects (e.g., audio files, text files) and learning activities (e.g., forums, chats, wikis). Then they can organize them effectively in the Moodle environment.

I started to work on something similar a couple years ago. That too long lonely post explain the tests I did last year to integrate it in Moodle.
That year I have worked on the generator part, a visual basic program that generate Moodle GIFT import material.
At the moment only 10% of the generating code is done.
I use a prototype approach: Each time I have to create new material for my students I use existing generating vb programs or I create new functions in vb to generate new stuff.
Can you elaborate a little bit more on how you want to proceed in your project?
How are you today? Hope everybody doing find today. Sorry for late respond. Firstly I will create learning objects blended with principle of screen design, human computer interface, endragogy ect. Secondly is to determine the learning style norm among the adult students. From there I will develop learning style template. Lastly computer will construct individual learning module( I need to develop the algorithm) according to individual learning style using learning objects created above. When students login, they need to answer a few questions(only once) to identify their learning style. After that computer will display learning module based on their learning style.
